Screen Cuba celebrates Cuban cinema, looking at the achievements and challenges of the Cuban people through the lenses of their filmmakers since the 1959 Revolution, and presents films rarely screened in the UK.
We bring you inspiring shorts, ground-breaking features, documentaries, and discussions with Cuban film specialists. Screenings include Tomás Alea’s iconic masterpiece Memories of Underdevelopment (1968), Pastor Vega’s Portrait of Teresa (1979) and Patricia Ramos’s A Night with the Rolling Stones (2023) exploring women’s lives, plus the “urgent cinema” of Santiago Álvarez and much more.
