Since the festival’s launch in 2024, members of these two unions have been an integral part of our audiences, and their support has been central to the mission of Screen Cuba. We are committed to providing a platform to showcase the most outstanding work of Cuban filmmakers and to supporting the projects of the Cuban Film Institute under the difficult conditions of an inhumane blockade, further tightened under the Trump administration.
The backing of these unions and their work to promote the Festival has enabled us to fulfil that commitment, and each year we have been able to send funds to help preserve and restore classic films in Havana’s film archives. So once again, gracias to the NEU and Equity!
