SCREEN CUBA 2025 POSTER

Created by Cuban designer Roberto Perez Curbelo (‘Potto’) based in Havana. The poster has been printed in the UK and is sold to raise funds to support projects of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) including restoration of films in archives and distribution. Potto, as he is known professionally, was inspired by the traditional tiles and rocking chair of Cuban homes, fused with the film director’s chair, and the screen print style of 60s and 70s posters in Cuba. The poster includes white border for framing. Printed digitally A2 size, 250gsm silk finish paper. Limited print run.

POSTER Elpidio Valdes: A la Manigua!

This year Screen Cuba gave a special place to the work of Cuban director Juan Padrón (1947-2020), the island’s revered godfather of animation. We are able to offer these original screen prints of his most famous character of children’s cartoons, Elpidio Valdes, thanks to Silvia Padron and La Manigua childrens film and cultural centre in Havana. Elpidio was a fictional Mambi fighter against the Spanish colonial powers in Cuba and always wins against the odds in some hilarious way. (50cm x 71cm) Numbered original screen prints on paper. Emii, as he is known professionally, says he took inspiration for the poster “from elements of cinema and representative elements of Cuba, in everyday or emblematic moments.” The poster includes white border for framing.
