The official poster of the Festival has arrived from the printers and we are thrilled. Created by Cuban designer and illustrator Emilio Cruañas Pérez, based in Havana, the poster will be sold to raise funds for projects of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) including restoration of films.
Emii, as he is known professionally, says he took inspiration for the poster “from elements of cinema and representative elements of Cuba, in everyday or emblematic moments.” The end result is a wonderful montage. Iconic architectural references such as Havana’s José Marti tower, El Capitolio building and balconies are integrated in a movie camera and tripod, as well as the sea and old cars. The poster will look stunning on any wall and your purchase will support Cuban filmmakers. Win win.
The poster will be available to buy soon online or at the cinema on screening days.
